120/121/122: discoveries

a busy saturday followed by a rained out sunday meant that monday was catch-up day, so you get a triple dose post...

after (finally) pruning back some Nandina, rediscovered these Autumn Joy Sedums that I was sure were long dead.

discovered that these Pleasant White Rhododendron sp. were not actually the same as these...

discovered that Mock Strawberries are growing in the pot with our Bay tree

68: a shrubbery

while waiting for the eldest to get two small cavities filled (only one of us could go back with him due to space, and he chose daddy), i took the opportunity to capture an interesting shrub planted along the sidewalk of the shopping center where our dentist is located...

speaking of teeth~ bitty girl is currently cutting her canines...  which means she wakes up every 3.5 minutes and mama can't stay on the computer long enough to figure out what this is right now...  will update later.

19: holly jolly

today i visited my awesome midwife, and while i could probably easily spend an hour photographing the extraordinary amount of flora to be found in her yard, this rainy afternoon was not the day for that...
i did capture a few images, however, and these turned out to be my favorites~

along the walkway:
Chinese Holly, 'Dwarf Burford' cultivar
Ilex cornuta
 in the waiting area:
'Lightning Splash' Moth Orchid
Phalaenopsis hybrid

orchids are my favorite flower, so i couldn't resist this beauty.
and i can promise that there will be more to come in a couple of months, when Orchids Galore! comes back to Lewis Ginter...
